BGSU Recreation and Wellness: Inspiring Active and Health Lifestyles. The Department of Recreation and Wellness is a comprehensive program that:
provides unique opportunities for recreation, wellness, and student development;
promotes healthy lifestyles to the University and surrounding communities through personal and team challenges, hands-on educational experiences, and competitive activities;
and aids in student recruitment and retention, and supports the University's core values and diversity initiatives to enhance the quality of life through the balance of work and play
Programs include Aquatics (certification courses, learn to swim), Falcon Fitness (group exercise, small group training, #Move4YourMood, assessments and services, older adult fitness, personal training), Intramural Sports, Outdoor Program (trips, climbing wall, wilderness first responder training, team building), Club Sports, Health Enhancement Programs, Wellness Connection (late night events, peer education, programs and presentation on stress, self-care, nutrition, alcohol, tobacco, drugs, personal and campus safety, sexual health, sexual violence prevention, bystander intervention, fitness, body image), Youth and Family (kids camp, birthday parties), and Partnership Initiatives (BGSU Cares, Its On Us, Safe Communities of Wood County). Featured facilities are the Student Recreation Center, Perry Field House and outdoor recreation spaces.
