BLACKPIN was developed on the advanced Matrix communication protocol, an open standard for interoperable, decentralized real-time communication and highly secure end-to-end encryption technology. This enables BLACKPIN to keep communications & teamwork closed and protected from prying eyes.

Communication
- Send encrypted text and voice messages in direct and group chats.
- Secure file sharing: files (documents, photos or videos) are encrypted during transmission so that only the intended recipient(s) can access and decrypt them.

- Permissions for chat rooms: Define who is allowed to add or remove new members, write or delete messages in a chat room.
- Reporting function: Messages that contain harmful or criminal content or violate legal regulations can be reported by chat room members & users.
- Topic-related push notifications: BLACKPIN users are notified when they have received, for example, invitations to chat rooms or new messages.
- Read confirmation: This feature shows users if messages have been successfully sent, received and read.

- Made in Germany: The software is developed in Germany and is therefore subject to the applicable legal requirements for data protection and data security.

Interoperability
- BLACKPIN users can access messages and files from different devices, i.e. a chat is started on the smartphone, for example, and can be continued on the laptop at any time.
