App Store Description

Blast is dedicated to capturing every aspect of the experience of going to a movie theater by putting the individual at the forefront, giving users the power to create and share custom movie tickets that highlight favorite experiences and theaters.

Create a Ticket
Blast was created because of a shared frustration that movie theaters have either started printing tickets on receipt paper, or stopped giving physical tickets out entirely. That’s why we’ve structured each movie post as a virtual ticket, in which you’re able to select a movie, poster, and theater before entering details like the date, showtime, and thoughts on the film.

You’ll quickly realize that every ticket has two scores attached to it: Movie Grade and Blast Grade. Sometimes you come across a movie that might not be an objective 10/10, but it gives you a memorable experience. If you go to a midnight showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Halloween, you might want to give that movie an A+, but you know that it’s not of the same quality as Oppenheimer. The Blast Grade of a movie is meant to capture that intangible value that typically gets lost when trying to grade movies and provide users an opportunity to rate a movie strictly based on their enjoyment during the showing.

Personal Feed
When you open Blast, instead of being prompted with trending movies with the highest scores, you’ll be greeted with your own personal feed designed to capture your friends’ most recent special movie moments, highlighting what they’ve watched, with who, at which theaters.

Movies
In the Movies tab, you’ll be able to scroll through trending films, or all-time hits. Just simply tap on the poster of a movie that you’re interested in to view its average Movie Grade and Blast Grade, as well as some other key information like release date, box office return, runtime, and a quick plot synopsis.

Blast is all about connecting people through movies, which is why if you scroll down on a movie’s details, you’ll see all of your friends’ tickets in one place. Of course there’s an option to see all tickets as well if you’re on the hunt for funny or touching theater experiences that have the most likes.

Theaters
Movies are as good as the experience you have in the theater. In the Theaters tab, users will be presented with the movie theaters that are closest to them. Once you click on a theater, you’ll be presented with user-submitted photos, reviews, and grades for the establishment.

Profile Page
Your profile page is yours to customize. Submit a profile picture and write a short bio to tell people a little bit about yourself and your taste in movies. This is also where you can access all of your past tickets, see which movies you’ve added to your queue, and view tickets you’ve saved to your archive and decided not to post. Your profile also houses your “My Favorites” page, where you can add your favorite movies, theaters, and genres.
