Bridgit

Bridgit provides an ecosystem of products that support patients to take the actions needed to keep themselves well, reassures family members that all is well with their loved ones and enables stretched care teams to provide focused earlier interventions.

Bridgit uses Microsoft’s AI capability and cloud services, along with new hardware devices specifically designed for accessibility by an elderly population. A population who may not have access to the internet or know how to use mobile applications.

Upstream’s new hardware provides a low-tech interface, powered by high tech intelligence, in the format of a single battery powered unit that attaches to the fridge. The unit requires no internet connection within the home, instead it sends the information securely via an embedded GSM chip.

Bridgit collects 40 pieces of information from the user and their home. She then uses this to provide targeted artificial intelligence advice on their conditions, medications & reminders for the day. Completing health checks and helping with movement, eating, heating, but also looking at mental health areas such as loneliness support and providing connections into the community.

Through this Bridgit mobile app, Brigit also lets family members know what is going on with monitored relatives. That grandad is up and about, eating well, has taken his medication or has a support worker in the house. Through the application the family member can send messages, reminders and advice to family members.
