While most pharmacology simulators can only handle one drug at a time, Brigham Anesthesia Simulator can handle any simultaneous combination of any of the medications that it knows. Brigham Anesthesia Simulator models the interactions of these medications according to the most current literature. Brigham Anesthesia Simulator is the most complete anesthetic pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic educational simulator available.

For intravenous medications, Brigham Anesthesia Simulator calculates current pharmacokinetic plasma and effect site concentrations, as well as the accumulations in deep compartments that affect context-sensitive half times. Volatile anesthetics are simulated with the classic three-compartment VRG, muscle and fat compartments, as well as simulation of ventilation and fresh gas flow into the anesthesia circuit. All simulated medications can be administered either manually with boluses and infusions, or automatically with effect-site targeting.

Brigham Anesthesia Simulator also simulates and forecasts pharmacodynamics, showing the anesthetic state in terms of a predicted processed-EEG sedation monitor, equipotent analgesia, neuromuscular blockade, local anesthetic serum levels and volatile agent MAC.
