Have fun calculating the cab fare for passengers and friends riding in your vehicle.

With this app, you can to turn any type of moving vehicle into your own taxi. The taxi meter is modeled after the taxi meters used in New York City. That makes this meter easy to use. When you're stopped, just set your extras, reset the meter, and go!

It uses $2.50 as a start fare charging $0.50 per 1/5 of mile and $.50 per passenger.

If you want to define your own Start Fare, Fare per Mile/Kilometer, or Passenger Fare, check out Cab Meter (iPhone 4, 4s, and 5). Cab Meter even allows you to define an idle fare and under what speed the idle fare is charged. It also allows you to put your company name at the top of the screen and adjust the currency symbol. Note: App may seem slow on startup because the device is searching for a good GPS signal. When it locks on to a signal, it will update fare and distance accurately and quickly.

Update in response negative feedback: If your device is an iPod touch, which does not have a GPS chip, location will be calculated based on Wifi signals resulting in mixed calculations. Also, if you want the meter to use your own meter settings, use Cab Meter.
