Calm Down Stories

‘Calm Down Stories’ are homemade stories created and narrated by me, a mom, with the purpose of developing the entrepreneurship skills, instilling a mindset of success and sparking the imagination of my son. As a Latina business owner, a storyteller, writer and visual artist I feel I have multiple lifetimes under my belt - with lots of failures, great successes, many awards, recognition, an accent and a pretty good imagination. 

WARNING: These stores are HOMEMADE, Mom made, they are NOT big-studio, celebrity-actor-narrated, nor rehearsed stories. These are REAL LIFE stories at REAL BEDTIME, recorded on my cellphone, while inventing them on the spot with my son. If you want big-studio, celebrity-actor-read, perfect audio stories… these stories are NOT for you.

The stories are mix of Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy meets Seinfeld for kids.

MY PARENT WEEKLY STORIES TOOLKIT BY EMAIL:

Why is so important for us to promote a mindset of success in our kids?
In those emails I explain parents how each story promotes a specific entrepreneurial skill. The weekly emails are like a parent's manual, a toolkit. Make sure you check your spam folder and white label the emails.

Without the weekly emails, parents miss the chance to understand the entrepreneurial concepts and how to enhance the mindset of success of their kids.

I came up with the stories when my son went from little angel to unreasonable crying monster every time I said “No” to something. The problem was that he couldn’t stop crying. He would ask me for help to stop crying. After trying many approaches and nothing worked. One day out of desperation I decided to use my MTV-NICKELODEON-Get-Your-Attention-Skills and I asked him a simple question: 

"Have I ever told about the frog with the one eye?"

He stopped crying. 

"Do you want to know?" I was in awe. 
“Yes”

And right then and there I started improvising a story. Like improv comedy, but improv storytelling. Within minutes he was laughing. Telling him a story worked every time. 100% of the time. Very soon the stories became our bedtime routine. 

A few months later, I discovered an unintended effect: my son started acting like a little entrepreneur.  I realized I was inserting all the entrepreneurial mindset I use in my businesses into the stories themselves. They are the DNA of the stories. From listening and participating, my son started behaving like a successful entrepreneur. I explain about it in the Weekly Stories Toolkit.

My son participates in the stories so much our relationship deepened and strengthen. I believe I have the power to the create the world around me. Creating the stories with my son, allowed me to create a world with him. Download the app and start creating your OWN world with your family.
