App Store Description

If you’re thinking about what to do after school or college, Careermag is here to help. Our focus is on apprenticeships, and we’re here to answer questions like:

• What is an apprenticeship?
• What do they involve?
• How do they compare to university?
• Is an apprenticeship right for me?

We’ve also got information on some specific industries, so you can find out what it’s like to work in areas like construction or hospitality, and what apprenticeships are available. If you’ve never done it before, applying for jobs can seem like a curious process with all kinds of unusual rituals around it – things like going to interviews, dressing for your first day or filling in an application form. We’ll look at them all over the next few months, but before you do any of that you’ll need a CV, so in this issue we’ve got some helpful advice on how to write one. Working out what to do next can be daunting, but don’t worry. If you get plenty of advice along the way from these pages, your teachers and friends and family, you’ll be a good position to make an informed decision about what’s right for you. It may be daunting, but hopefully pretty exciting, too. Good luck!
