App Store Description

Imagine a world where people are more intentional in friendships, where we spend less time on social media and more time actually socializing.

Imagine if the current social media giants were less about stealing your time and attention and more about empowering you to build meaningful friendships.

Imagine if in this world, a new social network emerged with the mission of helping all people to steward their relationships, time, and mental health well!

Hi, I’m Braxton, and this is my vision for our world. I’m the CEO and Co-founder of Cheers, a new app creating happier friendships and healthier minds.

I was born and raised in a suburb of Youngstown, OH before heading South to study Computer Science at Georgia Tech. During my undergrad, I recognized and set out to solve a great problem facing society and quite frankly the whole world: social media addiction.

The average student uses social media for 2 hours and 41 minutes per day. I witnessed this statistic firsthand in the cafeterias, dorms, and even classrooms of Georgia Tech. Now this wouldn’t be a problem if social media use didn’t so deeply and negatively impact the mind.
People have always found ways to pass the time - reading a good book, solving a Rubix cube, or even conversing with a neighbor - but these activities were quite positive, leaving you feeling productive, rejuvenated, and encouraged.

Social media users on the other hand report feeling lonely and left out as they saw their coworkers exciting moments on Instagram, guilty for wasting time as they got caught up in the recommended videos of Facebook, or discouraged and not good enough as they saw the deceptively perfect profiles of classmates.

You may have even recently seen the hit Netflix documentary, “The Social Dilemma”, highlighting this exact problem.

How have we as a society come to a place where we spend hours on platforms that leave us feeling lonely, guilty, and worthless?
Is it because we are afraid of missing out?
Well, you don’t have to be afraid of missing out any longer. Introducing Cheers, a new social app that empowers you to connect with friends, make plans, and save memories. After getting off our platform, users feel rejuvenated, encouraged, valued, and even productive as Cheers is a way to easily and efficiently organize your memories, maintain your friendships, and make plans at local businesses.
We designed Cheers to multiply the benefits of social networking while eliminating the negatives.
You can use Cheers to build stronger relationships, experience life, and steward your mind well!

Download Cheers today and join our world full of happy friendships and healthy minds!

Cheers,
Braxton & Zee
