App Store Description

Chia's signer app is a cryptocurrency hardware wallet for smartphones. It allows you to sign transactions using a key that lives in your phone's Secure Enclave.

The Current State of Cryptocurrency Security

Most cryptocurrency wallets are secured with a "seed phrase." This is a series of 12 or 24 words, which you must write down and keep safe. If you accidentally reveal your seed phrase, a thief could steal everything in your wallet. Your computer doesn't even need to be hacked for this to happen. If a smartphone's camera catches a glimpse of the piece of paper containing your seed phrase, all of your money could be stolen.

In recent years, hardware wallets have become a popular option for stronger cryptocurrency security. These are tiny devices that plug into a computer's USB port. The good news is that hardware wallets don't use seed phrases, which does prevent keys from being easily copied. However, these wallets rely on "blind signing" -- you can't see what you sign, so you might be sending your money to a hacker. On top of that, your key only exists on the device. If your hardware wallet is lost, damaged, or stolen, you will lose all of your money.

How Chia Is Different

Chia's signer app turns your smartphone into a hardware wallet. Your phone's screen has plenty of space to display exactly what is being signed, making blind signing a thing of the past. But what if someone steals your phone? That's where Chia vaults come in.

A Chia vault has two keys -- one for signing and one for recovery. If your phone is lost, damaged, or stolen, you can use your recovery key to rekey your vault to a new phone. But what if your recovery key is stolen? Chia vaults come with a built-in timer before a recovery can be completed. In the event of a malicious recovery attempt, you will receive an email informing you to move your funds before the timer expires. This means that your money will remain secure if either of your keys is compromised.

Chia's signer app provides a revolutionary solution for securing your cryptocurrency. Simply use this app to create a signer key, and you will possess a secure hardware wallet. On top of that, you can use the phone you already carry in your pocket -- there's no need to buy a separate device.

What are you waiting for? Use the signer app to turn your smartphone into a hardware wallet today!
