Chinese Reader

Read Chinese books, in your format, with helpful assistance when required.

With Chinese Reader you will be able to read engaging Chinese stories right from the beginning of your studies, and will still be coming back for more when you've become a master.

Chinese Reader allows you to lookup the definition of words you don't yet recognize with a simple tap. You can also listen to how it is pronounced, both on it's own and in the context of the sentence it came from.

Once you believe you have mastered a word you can tell the app that you know that word and from then on the definition of that word will be hidden, so you can't cheat yourself. If you want to see the definition again you'll just have to admit to the app (and yourself) that you don't know the word. If you have pinyin enabled, marking a word as known will also hide the pinyin for that word, so you can take it a step at a time when learning new characters.

Sometimes it can be hard to find a Chinese book that has the formatting just how you like it. Chinese Reader allows you to customize how the book looks, so that it's right for you.

- If you want to display pinyin above each character, you can.
- If you want to hide pinyin so you can focus on the characters, just turn it off.
- If traditional characters are your bag, then switch to traditional mode.
- If you prefer zhuyin to pinyin, then flip that on too.
- If you can't yet distinguish characters easily, just bump the font size up.

Chinese Reader allows you to set the format for how you prefer to read. And if you change your mind on this at a later stage, you can quickly change it again, at the tap of a few buttons. No need to buy those books again.

Each word has its own recording. Plus you have the audio for each sentence, paragraph and chapter to listen to at your own leisure.
