It works most simply:

First create your account by logging in using Facebook - helps keep accounts genuine. Then upload a picture of your cat. No, don't do that, people want to see you, not your cat. So upload your finest selfie. Write a couple of lines about yourself, no time here for long tedious essays and endless questions that no one cares about. Enter some basic criteria; are you a man or a woman, what age range are you are interested in, how far would you care to travel – that's about it.

As if by magic, the specified christians will materialise on your mobile device. If you like the specimen that appears, swipe right, else swipe left. Hey, I never said this app was original. If that same user swipes right on you, there will be a match made in heaven. And you will be able to chat to each other.

If you don't see anyone you like, it's early days, wait a week and check back. If you get a match when you are not on the app, you will get a notification – that's why you need to say “YES” to the notification permission. Oh yea, it's called Christian Dating UK because it's for christians who want to date in the UK, so if you want to meet Americans or Canadians, sorry, it won't do that, just saying. Maybe I'll extend it to Ireland, I've always liked the Irish, and they are really close.
