What is it about?

Keeping the Wheat Ridge community informed about and engaged in city services, programs, special events and community policing. The mobile app for this vibrant community of 31,000 provides ways for business owners, residents and other community members to access city services quickly and easily. The app offers email subscriptions to all the happenings in Wheat Ridge through the Newsflash feature as well as emergency alerts, notifications, traffic updates and enewsletters. Service requests can also be submitted via the City app along with business licenses, building permits and sales taxes. App users can also file complaints against and present commendations for police officers. Contact for City Council members and other elected officials as well as upcoming agendas for City Council and Study Session meetings can be accessed online with the app as well as the link to watch meetings on YouTube Live or the City’s Channel 8 government channel. The new What’s Up Wheat Ridge website is also found on the app connecting to an interactive format that allows for even more engagement on issues that matter to the people who live, work, play and learn in Wheat Ridge. Wheat Ridge Parks and Recreation Department also offers an electronic Guide to Programs and a link to the fitness and wellness programs offered by staff, all Rooted in Fun! Looking for a job? Those are listed as well as a link to all the social media platforms hosted by the City and the Wheat Ridge Police Department. Finally, those wishing to submit a bid to the City are welcome to use the app for this process and anyone wanting to review the budget whether in the draft form which is available in the fall or the final version generally uploaded by Nov/Dec each year.
