CO2 monitors measure indoor carbon dioxide (CO2) concentrations in real time to help maintain a pleasant environment.
Carbon dioxide is a colorless, tasteless gas that has little toxicity, but when it is concentrated, the air inside the room becomes cloudy, which can cause discomfort and health problems. It can be more dangerous, especially for the elderly and pregnant women.
The human body effects of CO2 concentration:
~450 ppm: Clean outdoor air level
450 to 700 ppm: adequate indoor air with no health problems
700 to 1,000 ppm: levels that may offend some people
1,000 to 2,000 ppm: Concentration of drowsiness and condition changes
2,000 to 3,000 ppm: A level that can cause health damage such as stiff shoulders and headaches
More than 3,000 ppm: Severe symptoms such as headache, dizziness and long-term health hazard
