Not exactly. Comfort Quest isn’t a list of boring medical information, but rather a mood-altering app for your child that helps them to stay calm during a procedure and prepares you to better manage their anxiety and pain.

- WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

Distress and anxiety during procedures can have lifelong, harmful implications on your child’s health. During medical procedures, poor pain management not only harms the child but negatively impacts the family and the dedicated healthcare professionals caring for them. Two-thirds of children experience needle anxiety. 80% of children with a chronic illness will experience anxiety from the hospital alone. It doesn’t have to be this way. There are plenty of proven methods that anyone can learn to help a child manage their pain and anxiety.

- HOW DOES COMFORT QUEST WORK?

Meet Spud! This friendly robot will empower your child to feel confident and in control of their next medical procedure. Spud will guide you and your child to create a personalised procedural plan. This plan will provide you with effective tips and tactics to manage anxiety and pain before and during procedures. It can be shared with health providers so that everyone is on the same page.

The app has been designed for children aged 5 - 13 years. The content has been developed in partnership with clinical experts in paediatric psychology and pain management.

Comfort Quest exists to take the fear out of nasty medical procedures for your child. We work closely with clinical experts to combine evidence-based strategies with engaging technology that places children in control of their health and wellbeing.
