Connectable

Connectable is a free messenger app which lets you connect with people around you. Connectable uses bluetooth low energy to create connections between other users and keeps you connected using your phone's internet connection. Only entering a nickname is needed to automatically create a user and make use of all the functionality of the app.

The main focus of connectable is to simulate a real conversation. A connection can only be made when both users are at the same location and further conversations stay in the moment by deleting read messages.

With the app Connectable you can connect to other Connectable users with an iPhone/iPod in three different ways using bluetooth low energy and location.

1.
when two users, each with an iPhone or iPod with the Connectable app in the foreground, press the “+” simultaneously, the two users will be connected using bluetooth low energy and will be able to chat with each other.

2.
One user with Connectable in the foreground presses the megaphone icon which will result in a short broadcast of a bluetooth low energy signal. Another Connectable user in close proximity can detect the signal. The detected first user will be listed in the “Public” list of the second user.

One user with Connectable in the foreground uses the Camera icon in the top, makes a picture or selects one from his library, than uploads this item. All the people with Connectable around are able to see the broadcasted item in the 'Nearby' tab.

A user can send an invitation to all users in his “nearby” list. Received invitations will be listed in the “invites” list. When a user accepts an invite a connection will be made between the sender and the acceptor of the invite so they can chat to each other.
