Using UK Police crime data, you can view crimes for a given month with 1 mile of your current location - or by a specified postcode.

If you are looking to potentially move somewhere in the UK, then you can use this app to help give you an indication of the [reported] crimes in the area and the rate of them. For a given month crimes in the hundreds would be a high crime rate, whereas a total of crimes less than one hundred is more typical of a lower crime rate area. Some areas in the UK even have a little as less than ten per month. In this scenario you can quickly work out where the crimes are concentrated as they'll tend be around the same street(s).

It's particularly useful if you are viewing a property, then load up this app and it will give you stats for within 1 mile of where you currently are.

The most recent crime data is always 2 months behind as defined by the Police data.

There will be a version 2 in the next couple of months which will collate user feedback and be updated accordingly.
