Dapplr

Dapplr is a design first approach app that lets you be a part of Hive with a fluid experience.

What does Dapplr mean?
"Dapplr" is derived from the word ‘dapple’. Dapple means spots/patches of light or colour. The design language that we have chosen is subtly explained by the name - adding a bit of colours and fun to the overall experience that the user will have. We believe that small details matter because they always make a difference. The colourful liquid-like effect works quietly throughout our app, enhancing the overall user experience. It is smooth, elegant and sophisticated and gives a nice touch of individuality and peculiarity. This small detail also denotes the fact that we are giving the user a smooth and glitch-free experience.

What are HIVE and Dapplr tokens?
These are tokens that are used to reward the content creators. A content creator can earn these tokens by publishing their content and the quantity earned depends upon how many people voted on their content and how much stake or HIVE Power do they have. What is HIVE Power? HIVE power is nothing but HIVE tokens staked on the blockchain. The more HIVE power you have the more value your vote will have. e.g Two person, one having 10,000 HIVE power and other having 1000 HIVE power. The one having 10,000 HIVE power will have greater vote value than the person having 1000 HIVE power.

Dapplr Tokens is currently under development and will be built over HIVE blockchain. Currently, these tokens are being managed off-chain from the HIVE blockchain.

How many votes can I make? (Voting Mana?)
- You can not infinitely upvote posts at the same value.
- Each time you vote the value of your next vote is worth a little bit less.
- Voting Mana is a percentage based system to show you how close to your maximum value vote you are at.
- Your Voting Mana goes down because of usage and goes up because of a timed regeneration.
- Generally speaking you can make about 10 full votes a day and that Voting Mana will be regenerated by the next day.
- You can make more than 10 full votes knowing your Voting Mana will drop accordingly.

How does the HIVE rewards system function?
- In every currency, including government backed currencies, there is new units of that currency printed every year. For a token like HIVE there is a specific designation for where the new HIVE tokens are distributed.
- Some tokens are used to pay those who help keep the blockchain technologically sound and decentralized.
- Most of that new HIVE goes into a reward pool that is distributed based on the VOTES that are given out every day by the users (aka the holders of HIVE Power)
- Therefore those who receive the most votes from the biggest holders of HIVE Power may receive the most new HIVE tokens

How do users purchase these tokens?
- You can post content and get votes that result in tokens being earned. Dapplr doesn't manage any of it. All of this is managed by the decentralised blockchain.

Can these tokens be cashed out?
The application doesn't include the feature to transfer the HIVE / Dapplr Tokens to any other user / exchanges. However, you can use the other tools such as https://peakd.com to transfer the tokens but it is not included in this application and is managed at the blockchain level.


Who is in charge of the HIVE Blockchain?
- No one owns the HIVE Blockchain. It is “decentralized”
- No company or person can make unilateral decisions what happens with the blockchain or the currency.

With the update 1.0.31, Dapplr is only making use of HIVE blockchain features and doesn't facilitate the transfer of virtual currency. If you want to transfer your tokens, you can use other platforms/applications built on HIVE blockchain.
