Remember that loud sounds can be harmful:

150 dB causes eardrum rupture
130 dB is the noise of a gunshot (close range)
120 dB is the human pain threshold
110 dB may cause serious hearing damage if sustained for longer than 1 hour
100 dB may cause serious hearing damage if sustained for longer than 8 hours
80 dB may cause hearing damage if sustained longer than 8 hours
60 dB is the volume of a typical conversation
50 dB is the volume of a quiet conversation
40 dB is a whisper
20 dB is the threshold of human hearing
