Develop Africa strategically empowers lives in Africa by providing educational opportunities and strengthening self-reliance so that individuals, families, and communities can create positive change in their own lives.

We empower lives by providing school supplies, scholarships, mosquito nets, solar lights, computer/vocational training, etc. We also provide microfinance loans and disaster relief. This helps them become self-sufficient and rise above poverty.

When individuals and families are strengthened, they can contribute towards community, national and international progress.

Our programs originated from specific user/community requests and needs. We conduct community surveys and research best practices to ensure we are targeting needs and implementing proven interventions that have the best chances of working or effecting change. During implementation, we conduct periodic monitoring and evaluation to ensure benefits are being realized. We make regular adjustments as necessary - enhancing what is working and eliminating what is unproductive.

We have trained and qualified staff personnel that are knowledgeable on the local needs and community lifestyle of the beneficiaries. We periodically consult with other nonprofit organizations and industry experts globally.

Our beneficiaries influence and decide on the interventions. They also determine how these interventions are implemented.

We regularly discuss their felt needs and the impact of our interventions on a one-to-one basis and in small groups. This is done through community/beneficiary engagement at the office and in their communities. This is also conducted before any major intervention is designed and carried out. This provides tremendous learning opportunities ensuring that we are making the maximum impact and appropriately addressing their needs. We also learn from and follow best practices.
