The Digital Birth Certificate (DBC) App has completed it’s pilot stage and due to be released to the NSW public late 2024. The DBC needs to be applied for as part of the existing application for the paper certificate. Currently people born in NSW are the only supported users of this app.

The Digital Birth Certificate (DBC) App has been created by the NSW Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages as a secure, convenient and verified identity platform for people born in NSW, Australia. The app can be used to access, view, download and share a digital version of your birth certificate. The application can house multiple certificates to allow for use by parents and guardians in addition to holding your own digital birth certificate.
