Do1Thing

Do1Thing is a nonprofit organization that aims to build disaster resilient communities. When individuals in our community are prepared, emergency responders can help more people. In turn, when people are more prepared themselves, they can help their neighbors. The Do1Thing program works because of our unique step-by-step approach that makes it easy to get started preparing for disasters and emergencies.
Started in 2005 by a group of local emergency managers in the Lansing, MI area, Do1Thing set out to help individuals get prepared by using a whole community approach. Our resources are translated into seven different languages, large and low literacy print formats, as well as audio and video formats. With time, a small organization soon grew into a national organization that reaches thousands of people each year.
