App Store Description

The best app for comparing places. Very handy for trip planning and moving. DoubleMap is the only app that lets you view two locations at the exact same scale.

◆ Wait, just two maps? I already have [insert your favourite app name] maps!
Good point. The thing is, a single map with nothing to compare to but the teeny tiny bar metric doesn't quite give you an idea of how big/small the area is. With DoubleMap, you can see two locations at the same scale so you can easily see things like "Aha, I can walk from my hotel to the nearest station because it's about the same distance from my home to the park". Your experience is the best measuring tool than plain cold numbers!

◆ I can compare places with any other maps, what gives?
A regular world map we often see has shape and size distortion towards the North and South Poles that make regions appear larger than their actual size. (If you're interested in why, Google "Mercator Projection".) That means viewing two locations on say, Google Maps with same zoom level won't cut it.

DoubleMap corrects this so that you can always compare different locations at the exact same scale. With map transform turned on, large areas will look more true to reality making it also suitable for learning geography and comparing large areas like countries.

Seriously, this is the only map app that does this adjustment thing to give you exactly the same scales on two maps!

◆ Features include:
- Correct scale (zoom) adjustment for locations with different latitudes.
- Save up to 3 locations to Favorites list.
- Open locations on Maps.app or Google Maps (if installed).
- Save/share/post the map view to other apps and social networks.

◆ One-time In-App Purchase unlocks all features:
- Pinch-to-overlap the two maps
- Map transform correction for shape distortion of Mercator Projection
- Save unlimited number of locations to Favorites list
- Additional types map modes (Satellite, Hybrid or Terrain)

DoubleMap works on all iOS devices running iOS 8.1 or higher.
That means on iPhone 4s, 5, 5c, 5s, 6, 6 plus, iPod Touch 5th Gen, iPad 2, iPad mini 1st gen, iPad Air, iPad Air 2, iPad mini Retina, iPad mini Retina 2. Whew, that's a lot of devices…

Please note: while scale & shape correction offers the best approximation of the real geographic area, it does not reflect 100% accurate form.

◆ Please consider leaving a review?
Ok, you've read this far, thank you very much for your interest. Since DoubleMap will never interrupt you for asking review, I'll ask for it here. Your review means a lot for an independent designer/developer like myself, and keeps me motivated for future development and support, so please do leave a review if you find the app least bit useful or interesting. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
