在故事的开端，玩家可自由选择加入一个势力，并获得自己的一块封地，随着游戏进程推进，游戏内会形成三足鼎立之势。
在游戏中，玩家可以在专属封地中建设各种独特的建筑，提高自己封地的资源收益产量，还可以招募三国时期所有风云战将，训练、升级各种士兵；提高自身爵位。通过攻占中立城池、抢占其他势力地块等途径，来开疆扩土，不断征战沙场，实现逐鹿中原，统一天下的愿望。
