eCatch Mobile

eCatch is a digital fisheries logbook application developed by The Nature Conservancy. It provides a simple way for fishermen to collect, map and share their fishing information in a private and secure manner. One of the more difficult aspects of fisheries management is the timely collection and dissemination of data in a manner that allows for in-season adaptive management. We made eCatch to address this problem.

Modernizing fisheries data systems to provide timely information to inform collaborative management is key to adaptively managing fisheries in an era of climate change. Modern, electronic reporting systems in fisheries, particularly those that are self-governed and provide ready access to data by participants, is a powerful means of facilitating collaboration, transparency, and data driven decisions in local fishery management.
