Edna is a mobile app designed to measure the diet of people in the community. It is not a typical diet tracker that measures everything you eat. With this version of Edna, we will be measuring only the amount of added sugars and saturated fat in people's diets.
Edna does not use food searching. Instead, you will review short lists of the top sources of added sugars and saturated fat and tell Edna about the ones you ate. We believe the most accurate way to measure what you eat is to ask about it as close to the time you eat as possible. You will receive notifications as reminders to use the app around meal and snack times.
By using the app, you will be contributing to research that will help us better understand the relationship between nutrition and chronic disease.
Edna was developed as a NIH-funded collaboration between Georgetown’s Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, Ohio State University, and Viocare, Inc.
