Edu-Xperiences
What is it about?
The Edu-Xperiences app allows users to be part of a digital scavenger hunt while taking in the sights that Washington D.C. has to offer. Historical facts will be highlighted as players explore popular tourist destinations. Students and tourists will be able to immerse themselves in history and facts that will bring meaning to their trip. Players will work in teams to compete against other students or tourists. Questions and directed selfies, at strategic locations, will afford the opportunity for users to learn about the monuments, museums, and Arlington National Cemetery, all while competing against other students or tourists. Users will select a site to experience, choosing between the most visited sites in Washington D.C. Sites include: the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the Korean War Veterans Memorial, the Marine Corps War Memorial, the WWII War Memorial, the Washington Monument, the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, the National Museum of American History, the National Air and Space Museum, the National Museum of Natural History, and Arlington National Cemetery. There will be fill in the blank, booster point (multiple choice), and photo opp questions based on finding a specific GPS coordinate. The teams will be competing against each other to see who earns the most points, as shown by a leader board. Users will end their trip with a musical VIDEO REEL that incorporates the “app” work in a memorable pictorial summary of their visit to Washington D.C., which can be downloaded and enjoyed for years to come.
