Explanations:
“Energy Paddle” relies on “embodied mind” concept under the hood - the level of concentration is quantified (and qualified) as a function of overall motor performance measured as a scalar of raw kinetic energy transferred to device. The exercise is aimed at increasing self-awareness (in rather formal, Gestalt-therapy, sense) and improving cognitive functions responsible for sense of rhythm, balance, coordination and pattern recognition.
Note: the "mind-reading" aspect of the game is more emphasized in "Mode: Basic" mode where noticeable "conscious" movements are filtered in favor of subtle ones.
Generally, the app has intent recognition accuracy comparable to lower-tier non-invasive BCIs, since, as Dr. Walter Bishop suggests, electric impulses in brain, that are strong (in either power or quantity) enough to create electric potential for EEG are often strong enough to reach neural pathways leading to muscles or, alternatively, block/interrupt/delay ongoing motor activity. Classic example of such thought-motor relationship would be balancing your body while involved into a complex mental processing (there are exceptions due to delaying).
System Console Demo: Another element of the game, Energy Console (as in scientific instrument that an operator can use to monitor and control a system), is a very early demo of what this approach can do in terms of generic human-computer interaction, since body at contact-boundary is much better access point than brain when it comes to, conscious or subconcious, intent recognition.
Meanwhile, players can see Console as a mini game to access songs and mutators. Be careful though - as it currently stands, it might hang or crash the game Win98 style or as the game itself act in strange ways - choicefulness comes with risks. Let's hope that everyone reads descriptions, because it is actually that something else made me write this game, so idrk how it actually works and what it's gonna do.
