App Store Description
Official audioguide of the Historical Museum of Physics and Enrico Fermi Research Centre.
The app, available in several languages, will allow you to easily identify the topics within the museum through QR Code recognition, giving you immediate access to audio or video information.
The app contains two hours of content, audio, and video, narrated by exceptional actors, such as Alberto Angrisano. Wearing headphones, you can let yourself be guided in the narration of the history of Physics, even if you turn off the phone screen.
All information is organised by exhibition space, or you can search by tag or search field.
The building on Via Panisperna in Rome, now hosts of the Historical Museum of Physics and Enrico Fermi Research Centre, housed the historic "Royal Institute of Physics" where a group of young scientists, gathered around the figure of Enrico Fermi, conducted the famous experiments on radioactivity induced by neutrons in the 1930s, which were fundamental for the development of atomic energy. This building has therefore been the setting for the history not only of physics but of the 20th century itself.
It was a point of intersection between scientific discoveries and epoch-making events that marked the course of the last century. The museum will present a historical and scientific journey through a series of discoveries and events that took place in the building on Via Panisperna, which led to the first controlled nuclear reaction. They also made a decisive contribution to the famous 'Manhattan Project' dedicated to the construction of the first atomic bomb.
To outline the exceptional scientific personality of Fermi and his collaborators, the historical account will have to be interspersed with explanations of scientific research: this will be done using a language that is comprehensible even to non-experts, placing multimedia installations alongside historical exhibits.
The use of high-technology devices in the museum will make it possible to address an increasingly wide audience and to attract the attention of the new generations to scientific issues that need to be simplified and approached in an attractive manner and at the same time through a competent guidance.
