App Store Description

This is the first app on equine ultrasound. Available for iPhone and iPod, it is intended for practitioners and students who want to improve their knowledge of equine ultrasound. The free "lite" version of the app is a navigable download providing the "look and feel" of the full version along with a good sample of its subject content. Try it to experience its rich features.
The full version is the first volume of an atlas of ultrasound. With 110 images, captions, and 79 videos, it covers all major systems of the foal, including both normal sonographic anatomy and the most frequent pathologies. For the veterinarian, it can improve the ease and accuracy of clinical practice. For the student, it can improve both skill and confidence. This app requires no internet connection and so is useful in the field, in the clinic, at home, and in the classroom.

Chapters in the app are
•Umbilicus
•Umbilical hernia
•Bladder
•Colics
•Diaphragmatic hernia
•Thorax (non cardiac imaging)
•Ribs
•Kidneys
•Guttural pouches
•Lymph nodes
•Abdominal abscess

The chapters explain, with still images and video, both normal and pathologic sonographic findings. These are supplemented with gross pathology photos, in addition to drawings and x-rays, to facilitate understanding of the corresponding ultrasound image.

This app summarizes the experience gained in thirty years of veterinary practice.
