What is it about?

Emergency Role Allocations (ERA) systems is a novel digital health solution which assists clinical teams in responding to obstetric emergencies. ERA allows care providers within a patient's room to indicate the type of emergency (E.g., postpartum haemorrhage) and presents tasks for completion at the nursing station (E.g., haemorrhage protocol, call 2222), which can therefore be allocated before attending the patient's bedside.

App Store Description

Emergency Role Allocations (ERA) systems is a novel digital health solution which assists clinical teams in responding to obstetric emergencies. ERA allows care providers within a patient's room to indicate the type of emergency (E.g., postpartum haemorrhage) and presents tasks for completion at the nursing station (E.g., haemorrhage protocol, call 2222), which can therefore be allocated before attending the patient's bedside.

ERA has been developed within the context of both a national ambition to transform maternity care in the NHS, and an impressive projected market growth of resuscitation-based software solutions. ERA is the only emergency role allocation system to inform attending staff of the nature of the emergency, and allocate roles before attendance at the bedside. This is accomplished by using tablets positioned at the end of each bed and at nursing stations. Feasibility studies with version one indicated that ERA enhanced effective team working, improved situational awareness and reduced time between emergency onset and the patient entering theatre. Additionally, ERA is easy to adopt and allows significant numbers of staff to be trained quickly.
