App Store Description

The Atwood number is a dimensionless quantity in fluid mechanics, and is related to the study of hydrodynamic instabilities in density stratified flows. The calculation formula is shown in the figure above, where: ρ1 = density of the heavier fluid ρ2 = density of the lighter fluid.

The Archimedean number is a dimensionless number in fluid mechanics named after the Greek scientist Archimedes, which can be used to distinguish fluid motion caused by density differences.

The Archimedean number can also be expressed as the ratio of the Grashof number to the square of the Reynolds number, which is also the ratio of buoyancy and inertial force. Ar=Gr/Re^2.
