App Store Description

Evicardio was designed to provide the clinician and investigator with a database of more than 800 randomized clinical trials in cardiology, than may collaborate in the evidence base clinical practice.
The application includes four main tools

Clinical trials database
New data calculator
My trials (a personal database with new data)
Evidence based cardiology manual (only in Spanish)

1) Clinical trials database
The information may be consulted traditionally as abstracts, and more powerfully with two statistical "calculators":

a)Clinical trials events:
Evaluates drug/intervention trials with the parameters of evidence based medicine (EBM): statistical significance, absolute risk reduction (ARR), risk reduction (RR), relative risk reduction (RRR), number necessary to treat NNT, and odds ratio (OR);

b) Metaanalysis: to evaluate with the method of Mantel Hanszel Peto the main effect of series of clinical trials. Trials may be selected using 4 criteria of search (acronym, drug/intervention, therapeutic group, disease) and each event can be analyzed individually or in an overview grouping essays with similar designs. The analysis can be saved in your personal archive.

2) New data calculator

Evicardio allows you to enter new trials in your personal database, using this two calculators (events in a single trial, metaanalysis of many trials and a third for Diagnostic tests: to evaluate diagnostic methods (sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive value, likelihood ratio, post test) and also gives you the chance to change the prevalence in order to estimate the probability in different risk populations. All the data can be saved and accede afterwards in your personal database.

3) My trials
You can keep in your file new information read from the papers, or add to previous metaanalysis new data.

Evicardio was developed by GEDIC. The original project leaders were Hernán Doval, Carlos Tajer y Juan Gagliardi. As coordinators of the work Susana Lipshitz, Javier Mariani and Maximiliano de Abreu. Cardiologists that help with the summaries: Adriana Acosta, Laura Antonietti, Aníbal Arias, Laura Arias, Rafael Feldman, Diego Funes, Javier Guetta, Luciano Lucas, Diego Manente, Walter Mason y Mariano Trevisan.
The computing-design and application was developed in collaboration with Pixeloide, Inc. As secretary we thank the huge help of Silvina Ruth Bravo.
