Evocco is a sustainable food app that helps you track, improve and offset the carbon footprint of your food shopping to get back within planetary boundaries :)

Our planetary boundaries are the safe levels at which we can consume the earth's resources, the safe operating limits of the planet.
Currently, we're outside the boundaries, and we need to reduce consumption and emissions in every sector to get back to safety.

Everybody has a role to play, and what better place to start than with food?

In the app, we've set a monthly target for the CO2 of your food shopping to keep within planetary boundaries.

Try to keep your emissions below 65kg of CO2, and update your impact by photographing your receipts each time you shop for food.
Follow the tips to improve your score, and if you exceed the boundaries you can offset your impact by planting native woodland to get back inside!

Track

Easily update your progress with the receipt scanner. Photograph your food shopping receipt from any Irish supermarket and get a sustainability and climate impact score for the products you've bought.

Improve

Get personalised tips based on your product choices. Find out which food products to buy more of and which to buy less of to improve your sustainability score.

Offset

Make your food shopping climate neutral by using our offset feature to plant native Irish woodland directly through the app. The forests we plant help restore essential habitats, promoting biodiversity as well as capturing carbon.

More Than Just Climate Impact

Of course, there's more to food than climate impact. To help you enjoy a healthy and sustainable diet we combine the climate impact of a food product with some of its nutritional content. This way our sustainability star rating helps you find the most nutritious food for the lowest climate impact.

Scientific Climate Impact Scoring

Rather than using qualitative (and often confusing!) eco labels to decide whether a product is climate friendly or not, we use a scientific methodology called Life Cycle Assessment (or LCA for short) for our scoring system. We've partnered up with the Swiss LCA scientists from Eaternity (www.eaternity.org) and work with them to ensure that we give you the most accurate climate impact scores possible, no matter what you buy.
