The Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand was established in 1979 and is a federation of several regional New Zealand Muslim Associations. Our Secretariat is located in our headquarters in Wellington.

Alhamdullilah, the Muslim community in New Zealand is united and is collectively working to uplift the well-being of our community. In this regard, FIANZ, with its main objective of upholding the Islamic values, has been playing the role as the driving force to maintaining the unity of the Muslim community in New Zealand and ensuring that we are able to integrate well with the mainstream New Zealand community.

FIANZ plays an important and valuable role in caring for the many and varied interests of the New Zealand Muslims. FIANZ is an apex body guiding the New Zealand Muslims in the promotion of religious, social, educational, cultural and economic activities in accordance with the principles of Islam as enshrined in the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah. FIANZ endeavors to build better understanding between the Muslim community and the various ethnic and religious communities in New Zealand so as to live harmoniously and cohesively for better life for all.
