App Store Description
The AHDB Potatoes 'Fight against Blight' (FAB) service has been reporting blight alerts for the past 10 years. This information is collected on a voluntary basis by Blight Scouts drawn from members of the industry who are routinely walking potato fields during the season. The samples that the Scouts send in for analysis are also used for the much-publicised work on mating types.
The AHDB Blight App allows scouts to submit sample details form the field, including details such as location, the source and scale of the incident, the potato variety and a photograph of infected site.
Samples are then sent to FERA for confirmation, and once confirmed as positive or negative, details can be viewed on the https://blight.ahdb.org.uk website.
