Floont is for professionals wanting to work in North America or work with English speakers who need to be fluent to accelerate their careers. Floont sets up 15-minute conversations with certified English Professionals providing an on-demand service like ride-sharing. Unlike ESL schools or tutoring centres,
Floont works with your schedule without the cost of books, classes and commuting.
Floont combines 2 elements of the most powerful apps out in the market to take language fluency to the extreme:
1.) On-demand Scheduling like those ride-sharing, house-sharing and proximity dating apps, and
2.) Internet Phone.
The result is an app that connects those that want to boost their English conversation skills with certified English as a Second Language (ESL) and English as an Additional Language (EAL) instructors whenever they want.
What’s different about this compared to any other language app? So glad you asked. It’s:
Voice only - You don’t need to be dressed up…if at all (This isn’t that kind of app by the way). Plus, you can make all the mistakes. No judgement but when you take those risks with language, that’s when you really learn.
Whenever you want. - We recommend an intensive bootcamp of 5 sessions per week for two weeks before any big event such as an interview, the TOEFL exam or a big trip.
Only 15 minutes. - Fit it in between classes or on your lunch or do it full time in the off-season. Not while you’re on the bus though. Nobody wants to hear your conversation…besides, you’ll be giving a free lesson to your fellow passengers.
Everybody has 15 minutes. What if you did it for 10 working days before a big trip, interview or the speaking portion of the TOEFL exam?
How it works. Abby’s story…
Abby (Alias ‘AB-China’) wants to prepare for her trip to Vancouver and needs to practice her English. She downloads Floont, and then plans to start talking English 15 minutes a day with a Vancouver resident for 2 weeks.
Steven (Alias ‘ST-Vancouver’), an ESL Instructor who’s in between classes, sees AB-China’s request and clicks that he’s available.
Floont calls Abby and Steven masking all phone numbers and the two speak for 15 minutes.
After 2 weeks, Abby has spoken with 10 different ESL instructors in Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto. She is more confident to interact with English Speakers than she would have been with any class or automated app.
