'Flowers of Sahyadri' is an application for searching and identifying 2200 species of flowering plants found in Sahyadri, the biodiversity hot-spot of north western ghats of India. It has 2 modes viz. 'Search' and 'Identify'.
In search mode, from botanical or common name, it displays image, botanical and ecological characters of the selected species. In identify mode, from a few botanical or ecological characters of a species, it successively short lists images at selection of every character and finally
identifies the species. On selecting the image from the short list, it displays the remaining characters.
The application also contains flowering plants cultivated in Sahyadri. Students, trekkers, travelers, nature lovers, foresters and landscape designers will enjoy identifying wild and cultivated flowering plants on their own without taking any expert's help.
The application enables sorting of 2200 species of flowering plants on any character of user's choice. This helps travelers and plant explorers to know where, how and when to visit Sahyadri hills for enjoying flower watching.
