The Fluker Post Project originated from within Victoria University and is named after its inventor, Dr Martin Fluker.
This citizen science system allows community members and natural resource managers to contribute towards the ongoing care of the natural environment by taking repeat photographs from fixed photo-points, the Fluker Posts!
At sensitive environmental locations around the world, Fluker Posts are placed facing a specific view of a beach, forest, wetlands or other landscape.
A printed photo of each scene is displayed on a sign attached to each eponymously named Fluker Post. This shows people what to take a photo of.
Using the Fluker Post app, users can quickly and easily take a photo and have it automatically uploaded to form a long-term visual history of changes to the landscape. Even far from the reach of the internet, you can still take a photo and it will be uploaded when you get back home.
The Fluker Post app also lets you view the history of photos at any location, with an intuitive scroller to let you see a flip book of images showing changes over time.
The Fluker Post app is entirely free and available for use without any form of registration. There's no ads and we're not sharing any of your data for nefarious advertising purposes. In fact, all images are available for all time under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License.
