FotoOto

FotoOto is the first imaging format made for the blind and visually impaired. It transforms photographs into sound images and makes pictures audible. This allows blind and visually impaired people to capture visual formats and share their own content on social media.

The app uses the camera of the smartphone and matches the colours in the photo with different instruments and acoustic colours. Thus, unique melodies are created. Users can record comments for their sound images and share them with their family, friends or their favourite social network.

The pictures go through an image recognition that perceive different elements and reads them out aloud.
