App Store Description

The GameFinder Mobile app enables users of the Day6 Outdoors PlotWatcher and PlotWatcher Pro Time-Lapse Video Cameras to view their video files on iPhones devices.

*Please note that, in addition to this app, a Wireless SD Card Reader/File Server/WiFi Hot Spot device is required. These rather inexpensive, portable, battery-driven devices read the SD card and stream the selected video file over a WiFi Hot Spot that the device creates. The user simply connects to this WiFi in order to see all of the files that have been recorded on the SD card. There are several of these devices on the market but the one that we are currently recommending is the RavPower RP-WD01 (www.ravpower.com). (These are typically available for less than $50 and can also serve as a power bank for your portable devices.) We do not carry these devices in the Day6Outdoors.com store, but they can easily be found on the internet.

Once you have connected to the SD card via your WiFi Hot Spot, the app will work very similar to the GameFinder software that you use on your Mac or PC. You will have the ability to scroll through all of the available video files, select the file your want to review, select the speed at which you want to view the video, zoom in on items of interest using the pinch and zoom functionality (two fingers on screen), touch the screen to stop the player, drag across the image using the touch screen capabilities of the device, drag the progress indicator to quickly move through portions of a video, etc.

Currently, you cannot save short clips of your videos in this app. You can capture individual screen shots by pausing the video on the image you wish to save. Then, simply press and hold the “Sleep/Wake” button and then press the “Home” button. Once a screenshot is captured, it will be automatically saved to your iPhone Camera Roll and can then be stored or shared with friends.

The pictures above are designed to show you what kind of information you can gather with the PlotWatcher Pro cameras. Note that you can get very good images when the subject is within the typical range of a traditional trail camera. However, you can also get images of animals that might be 100 yards or more from the camera as the PlotWatcher Pro is triggered to take pictures at defined time intervals as fast as once every second. This provides you with images like these that show you useful information about game animals' movements and patterns. Note the image that shows you the buck entering the soybean field. This is very useful information to anyone attempting to hunt this animal.
