Get Qurious AR Conservation

Animal Conservation is the topic of this dynamic augmented reality app. Kids check out AR versions of 6 large endangered animals, and get moving as they follow the creatures around. The app features a “building menu” so kids can create a habitat for each animal, complete with digital versions of plants, rocks and water sources typically found in each animal’s real home. These elements can be placed, moved, rotated and positioned per the child’s design.

Kids add physical DIY projects to their habitats as well, like a paper bag gorilla nest, popsicle stick conservation signs and geographically accurate background drawings. (They can learn about what each animal really needs in their field guide and crafts books.)

The digital elements create a magical environment for the kids- as they discover surprises like attracting Brenton blue butterflies, hearing red wolves howl, and even seeing the skeleton inside a lioness.

Additional features such as taking pictures, recording and drawing observations in a field journal and shooting videos with their own narration help kids express their individuality in a unique augmented reality setting. We believe that this kind of open-ended play will intrinsically motivate kids to explore, learn and spark their imagination about topics that could become their passion.

Kids use their imagination to craft a world that’s part digital 3D and part DIY craft projects. (And 100% creative.)

As part of the play, kids are motivated to physically get up and move around the world they have created, so they can explore hidden details above, below, around and even inside the objects.
