App Store Description

Free trial version of the macroeconomics app.

Gods of Money is a visualization and simulation of the U.S. economy. With Gods of Money, you can see how the Federal Reserve, Congress, and the White House manipulate the flow of money across the nation. You can see how much money is made by businesses, where the government gets its money and how it is spent, and how much money goes to individual households.

Eighteen economic indicators show how the economy is performing. Unemployment, inflation, federal debt, stocks, bonds, imports, exports and others are displayed with a 12-month history.

Eleven controls represent some of the tools the Federal Reserve and Congress use to manipulate money. You can see how the interest rate, the Fed balance sheet, and tax rates have been changed, and see the effect the changes had on the economy.

You can also try your hand at manipulating the economy. Change to Active mode at any time and play the part of the Federal Reserve, Congress, and the White House - the "Gods of Money" - by setting the interest rate, taxes, the budget, and more. You can even turn off the Fed or go on the gold standard. You will see - and hear - how the economy is doing based on your actions.

The model used to generate data in Active mode is based on thousands of observations of dozens of datasets combined with machine learning to produce realistic economic behavior. After playing you receive a grade and evaluation based on how well you handled the economy. If you do very well you may get a big bonus, but if your economy collapses you'll get a large penalty.
