Good Shepherd Catholic Parish
What is it about?
Good Shepherd Catholic Parish is a diverse and active Roman Catholic parish serving the people of Visalia, California with four churches, George McCann Catholic School, and The Bethlehem Center. Our family of parishes include: Holy Family, St. Mary's, St. Thomas the Apostle, St. Charles Borromeo, George McCann School, and Bethlehem Center. We serve a diverse region of California’s great central valley. Visalia is home to a rich blend of cultures and ethnicities. Our congregation enjoys the traditions and values of Hispanic, Asian, African American, and many others. Sixty percent of Visalia residents are Catholic and each month, thousands stream in and out of our churches, school, and the Bethlehem Center. As a Christian participating in a ministry YOU are a minister. Since all the baptized are members of the universal church, whenever you engage in your vocation to evangelize the word and to help those in need, you are acting as a minister. The Church calls people to be responsible stewards of their time and talent in support of the parish. This often takes the form of volunteering for a specific lay ministry, most of which are liturgical, catechetical, or involved in pastoral care and social justice.
