The Côa Valley Grand Route is a 200km marked trail, linear, that goes crosses the Côa Valley from its river spring (at Fóios, Sabugal) to the river mouth (Vila Nova de Foz Côa) where it connects with Douro river.
It is marked in both directions, so one can opt to do north-south or south-north. The organizations suggests the south-north, from the spring towards the mouth.
The GR can be done by walking, cycling or riding a horse and there are alternative trails exclusive for cyclists and horsemen.
In two places, at Almeida and Algodres (Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo municipality) one can opt amongst a eastern or western route.
The GR crosses a valley of heritages with a lot to see, taste and discover
