What is it about?
Green Things is a food oriented community where anyone can benefit from mutually grown home food. The goal is to increase the amount of food consumed within 15 miles of where it was grown and reduce the amount of food bought from large scale mono-cropping agricultural operations. We accomplish this by creating a market for small farmers and would-be urban gardeners to sell the produce they grow. Hyper local produce is more nutritious and tastes so much than store bought food because it's ripened naturally in the ground, not with gas! Since this produce avoids transportation, storage, and grocery store mark up, our growers can offer the very best organic and no-pesticide fruits and vegetables at prices cheaper than the grocery store.
