App Store Description

Help us to make the Mediterranean a clean sea! A small effort is all that is needed: it is enough to collect the waste properly on board the boats and place the different types of sorted waste in the appropriate containers that the dockworkers make available to boaters.
With the application developed by the GRRinPORT project, you will know in advance, thanks to our geo-referencing system, the selective collection areas for the different types of waste and the rules to be followed in the ports of Ajaccio, Cagliari and Livorno.
In these three ports, you can also dispose used vegetable oils in specially equipped areas and in the port of Cagliari, you will also find a wastewater suction station.

GRRinPORT is a project funded by the Italian - French Maritime Operational Programme launched in April 2018 and will last 36 months. Its objective is to improve the quality of marine waters in ports by limiting the impact of port activity and maritime traffic on the environment. Water pollution, the main negative effect of the current waste and effluent management system in the port area, results mainly from the lack of information and awareness of port users, the lack or absence of infrastructure for the delivery of waste and effluent to ports. In addition, it is difficult for port users to manage with different rules/procedures in each port/country in which they moor. In this scenario, the project aims to relocate port facilities in an eco-sustainable and eco-innovative context with a cross-border cooperation approach, based on an innovative approach.
GRRinPORT's partners are the University of Cagliari - the lead partner - with DICAAR (Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering) and DISB (Department of Biomedical Sciences), the Autonomous Region of Sardinia (Regional Agency of the Sardinian River Basin District, RAS-ADIS), the MEDSEA Foundation (Mediterranean Sea and Coast Foundation), University of Corsica Pasquale Paoli (Lisa Laboratory - Umr CnrS6240 Lieux, Identities, eSpaces and Activity), Corsican Transport Office (OTC), University of Pisa (DESTEC - Department of Energy, Systems, Territory and Construction Engineering) and Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (ISPRA - Experimental Section for the Ecological Risk Assessment of the Sea Coast belonging to the CN-COS, Livorno).
