App Store Description

Practice your organic chemistry skills and learn more about fundamental chemical phenomena with H NMR MoleculAR!

This exciting and info-packed augmented reality app doesn’t just provide spectra, it illustrates the fundamentals of the chemistry that result in those spectra and teaches why they appear as they do.

H NMR MoleculAR uses 3D molecules, electrostatic potential maps, and molecular orbitals to help users visualize what the Number of Signals, Integration of Signals, Multiplicity of Signals, and the Chemical Shift of Signals represent. For students, the app is most useful at the organic chemistry I or II level.

Visit http://go.ncsu.edu/nmr to download the accompanying worksheet containing the image targets needed to activate this application’s AR experiences.

The H NMR MoleculAR app, along with the included worksheet (which is required for the app to function) can be used in the classroom, laboratory, or for at-home practice. It is intended to be a laboratory assignment for the CH 224 Organic Chemistry II course, offered by the Department of Chemistry at NC State University.

This application was developed by NC State University's Distance Education and Learning Technology Applications team (DELTA) in collaboration with Lyniesha Wright at NC State's Department of Chemistry.
