Habit Ladder - Habit Tracker
What is it about?
Habit ladder is a free habit tracker (no in-app purchases or subscriptions) that puts emphasis on achieving small goals at the start of someone's habit formation journey. This is done by using a built-in feature known as the habit ladder which shows a set of times/tasks (in increasing order) representing the duration of that habit. Users start at the bottom of the habit ladder and work their way up (e.g. starting with 5 minutes and then increasing to 10 minutes once consistency is achieved and the user feels confident to progress). Users will also be shown a grid calendar (one for each habit). Each grid box represents one day of the year and when that box is coloured in, it indicates that the user has completed a habit for that day and if it's blank, the user has not completed that habit successfully for that day or it's a future date. Notifications can also be set by the user to remind them how much time they have before they need to complete a habit (the time at which they complete the habit can be customised in the settings of that habit). There's only one notification available for each habit and the notifications come in discrete options (notification at the time of the habit, 5 minutes before the habit and all the way up to 1 hour before the habit starts). Users can start the habit at any time of the day so long they scheduled to do that habit for that day. Furthermore, users can only access the next highest time in the habit ladder if they complete the weekly goal they set for themselves which is by doing the habit on the days they scheduled to do it on in a single week. For example if the user has selected to exercise on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, they must exercise on those days for one week in order to progress to the next level on the habit ladder. A habit completion is confirmed when the user has started a timer for that habit and once the timer ends, the app immediately shows records their completion which in turn shows on the calendar as mentioned earlier. The habit settings (the name, start time, notifications, habit ladder configuration) can be changed at any time. Habits don't need to be timed. They can be set with a custom unit e.g. repetitions of an exercise. There's no limit to how many progressions the user can add to the habit ladder however, unlike habits with custom units, a habit cannot have a duration of more than 24 hours. Additionally, users can archive their habit in the habit settings but it won't show up in the schedule however notifications associated with that habit will still show.

Users can also navigate to the schedule which shows what habits need to be done for the day and what habits have already been done or aren't scheduled for that day. If a habit still needs to be completed, the user can press a button to start that habit. When a user begins a habit for the day, a timer starts and a notification goes off once the timer has finished and the user can press the confirm button to go and see their results recorded on the calendar (although this doesn't imply that pressing the confirm button triggers the habit completion to be recorded as this is already done once the timer has finished). Alternatively, if users are using a custom unit i.e. the habit isn't timed, the user must press a button in order to confirm that they have completed the habit.
