This is not a scary, flashy app. It is a simple location based and informative. We found some haunted hotels around the globe that are waiting patiently for you to visit. Very patiently. Whether you travel alone or with company, try spending some time at places with permanent residents of a chilling and ghostly nature.

This app lists 178 places you can stay (and three closed ones for the stories) with more coming over time. From bed and breakfasts in stately old buildings around New England to high-end ocean resort hotels in California, you can use this app to explore a bit of history and if you stay the night at one, maybe even feel the past come back to you.

Options with or without service. - Find the nearest ones to you right now on the map view. - Planning ahead for other places? Type a city in the search box and jump there on the map. - No service? Use the in-app manual lookup. - Tap a location for more information such as the ghost story behind it, the distance from your current location, phone number, address and directions from maps. - Easily report errors, changes, closures or post important comments from each locations detail view. For all features and best results, a GPS enabled device is recommended but this is designed to run and look good on all devices. The data is stored locally on your device. Using the manual lookup button, you can find places by state and city without internet service. You can list all places or just one preferred type. This data is US only right now.

So if you are looking for something really different in this world, try spending some time at places with occasional visitors from another world. Plan ahead if you are looking to stay around the end of October as many of these places are busy or have special events for Halloween. Some of them wish the ghost would move on and others relish the added attention and business. Many of the larger hotels will not deal with reserving of a particular room tied to a ghost story, but you may get lucky. Or unlucky depending on your point of view.
